I'm trying to run a solo 4e game for my boyfriend to show him all the cool parts of Planescape, and I'm having some trouble thinking up ideas for faction quests.
He's playing an avenger who has come to Sigil from Hestavar, the plane of the gods of sun, knowledge, and civilization. He came there to join the Mercykillers in a well-meaning attempt to help stop the evil-doers of the planes.
I'm running this pre-Faction War, but he's aware of the split of the Mercykillers, and made his character with the understanding that he'd eventually be a part of the Sons of Mercy. He wants his character to become a Justiciar too.
So far I have him running small missions with a few other recent namers until he can be sponsored by a higher faction member. I plan on having him become a Justiciar around level 5, but I can't think of that many interesting Mercykiller missions for him to do at low levels. I've read through a few of the old Planescape modules, and while they were very helpful with non-faction quests, most of the adventures don't seem like something I could convert into faction based quests. My boyfriend has made the Mercykillers such an important part of his character so I don't feel comfortable brushing over them for too long, but I really don't know what they do outside of maintaining the Prison and bounty-hunting.
Sooo... Anybody have some ideas?
